Bollywood actresses Raima Sen and Riya Sen hail from the royal house of Tripura. Their paternal grandmother Ila Devi was the queen of Tripura and elder sister of Gayatri Devi – the queen of Jaipur.

Shilpa Shetty was interested in ramp modeling as a teenager. After passing 10th standard, she built her portfolio (photographs). The photographs that she had left at the audition were noticed by a filmmaker Dilip Nair, who later cast Shilpa in his film. That film got shelved but opened doors for her.
